GFSC Network

Facilitators...guide people though participatory processes so that the group members identify goals, make decisions, plan organization strategies and learn from one another.

Successful facilitation improves group functioning, increases energy, effectiveness and efficiency as group members learn new skills they can apply to future challenges.

GFSC shares tools and techniques with communities, agencies, organizations and independent professionals working to build personal and community resilience and self-reliance. Each project is unique and can include mentoring, coaching, workshops, materials, networking. GFSC promotes collaboration, collegiality and continuous learning. We assist community volunteers with planning, design, materials, mentoring, training and a forum to share ideas and techniques. If you represent an organization in need of facilitator volunteers, please write to info@globalfacilitators.org. GFSC does not match volunteers with local projects. Share Opportunities to Serve We encourage volunteers to identify local opportunities to serve in their communities. Also, we encourage those who are working in communities and/or the agencies and organizations that serve them, to share their successes and challenges with the network so that others can learn, share, collaborate, increasing the potential "ripple" effect, benefiting other communities as well. You can make a difference in your community... Learn how to help yourself and other cope in the aftermath of crisis and community-wide changes. Help a local community-based NGO to plan its future. Help a local community resolve its conflicts and work together for community improvement. Sponsor a leadership development program in a migrant, refugee or tranistional community. Participate and/or sponsor a GFSC project to fulfill your company's Corporate Social Responsibility objectives. Offer your specific professional skills to GFSC (e.g., legal, financial, grant writing, public relations, marketing). Facilitator Support GFSC offers networking, mentoring, training, materials and other support services to facilitators and other professionals working with communities building their resilience and self-reliance, particulaly in areas affected by crises.
